    We are wrapping up family conference week at both VCES and VCMS, with very close to 100% of our families attending!  We are thankful for such an involved community of families and know that our students will benefit as research shows that family participation in school is one of the most significant levers for school connection and student achievement.

    Dear VCS Community, Welcome back from the summer and to the 2025-2026 school year!  Our staff is working hard to prepare for the upcoming school year and we look forward to welcoming our students back to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 13th. This day will follow a minimum day schedule.

    Dear Valley Charter Community, The 2024-2025 school year has officially come to a close!  We had beautiful culminations for our 5th and 8th graders this week. Congratulations to all of our students and families on this important milestone! Thank you to our amazing staff for the role each of you plays in preparing our students for their next steps.
  • Culmination Countdown: Spring Highlights and Upcoming Events at VCS May 2025
    The time between spring break and the end of the year always goes fast, but this year time is compressed even more because of the late spring break. As culminations are around the corner, we are savoring all of our last moments with our 5th and 8th graders before they take their next steps. As always, time with them feels bittersweet.
  • Spring Updates from Valley Charter Schools: Events, Fundraising & Family Engagement: March 2025
    It is hard to believe that we have just about two and half months of school left in the 2024-2025 school year! Time really does fly when you are having fun (and are really busy!).

Valley Charter Schools is a tuition-free public charter school network serving students in the San Fernando Valley. Founded in 2010, we offer a student-centered education grounded in a diverse-by-design model and hands-on, project-based learning. We operate two schools:

  • Valley Charter Elementary School (TK–5) – Serving approximately 300 students in North Hills
  • Valley Charter Middle School (6–8) – Serving approximately 300 students in Van Nuys
