Dear Valley Charter Community,
The 2024-2025 school year has officially come to a close!
We had beautiful culminations for our 5th and 8th graders this week. Congratulations to all of our students and families on this important milestone! Thank you to our amazing staff for the role each of you plays in preparing our students for their next steps.
As always, it is very hard to say goodbye to our culminating students and we will miss them, but we are comforted in knowing they have been well-prepared for their next steps and ready to be communicators, collaborators, critical thinkers and advocates out there in the world, in the Valley Charter way!
We have a lovely tradition here at VCS, where the 4th grade and 7th grade parents host the reception for the culminating class. A huge thank you to the 4th grade families, coordinated by Kristine Duarte, who hosted the 5th grade culmination reception and to the 7th grade families, coordinated by Mayra Leiva, who hosted the 8th grade culmination reception.
VCS Leadership Updates for SY 25/26
In addition to welcoming Parinaz Banks into the VCES principal role beginning July 1st, there are a few other updates related to VCS leadership for next year to share:
- Brenda Sadeghi, our VCMS principal, will be out on maternity leave this coming fall (congrats Brenda!!). During this time, I will be serving as the acting principal for VCMS, in addition to the ED role. While this will certainly be a change and a challenge, I am excited to support the middle school team and students during Brenda’s leave!
- While Liz Adams will be leaving the VCES principal role, she will be continuing with VCS in a part-time, behind the scenes position next year, supporting the elementary leadership transition as well as supporting operational work across the organization. We are excited to have Liz stay directly connected to VCS and help out during what is going to be a busy year!

Staff Goodbyes
As Liz and Brenda shared in this week’s school communications, there were some tough goodbyes to VCS staff this year, as some members of our team are moving on to the next phase of their lives, education, and careers. Thank you all for your service to Valley Charter Schools and we wish you the best of luck in your next steps!
Mark Your Calendars for the 2025-26 School Year!
Be on the lookout for detailed back to school communications the week of August 4th. These communications will include information regarding any new team members.
The first day of school will be Wednesday August 13th, 2025 and this will be a minimum day. VCES’ meet the teachers event will be August 11th and VCMS’ student orientation event will be August 12th. A reminder that the 2025-2026 school calendar for next year is available on our website.
