Dear Valley Charter Community,
We can’t believe that the 2023-2024 school year has officially come to a close!
We had beautiful culminations for our 5th and 8th graders this week. Congratulations to all of our students and families on this important milestone! Thank you to our amazing staff for the role each of you plays in preparing our students for their next steps.
As always, it is a bittersweet to say goodbye to our culminating students and we will miss them, but we are comforted in knowing they have been well-prepared for their next steps and ready to be communicators, collaborators, critical thinkers and advocates, in the Valley Charter way!
We have a lovely tradition here at VCS, where the 4th grade and 7th grade parents host the reception for the culminating class. A huge thank you to the 4th grade families, coordinated by Neyva Raya, who hosted the 5th grade culmination reception and to the 7th grade families, coordinated by Sandra Arroyo, who hosted the 8th grade culmination reception.
Summer connections
We like to create touchpoints for our students and families to connect over the summer. Please be on the lookout for email about summer playdate (VCES) and hangout (VCMS) information.

Be on the lookout for detailed back to school communications the week of August 5th.
The first day of school will be Wednesday August 14th, 2024 and this will be a minimum day. VCES’ meet the teachers event will be August 12th at 3:30 and VCMS’ student orientation will be August 13th (times will be shared in back to school communications). A reminder that the 2024-2025 school calendar for next year is available on our website. Please consult this calendar as you plan vacations for the next school year because your child’s daily attendance matters greatly to their learning and to our school funding.
